April 4, 2007 - Global Days for Darfur National Event - DDD's picnic. November 31, 2007 - Olympic Torch Relay and protest demonstration in downtown Dallas. April 12, 2008 - Global Days for Darfur National Event - DDD participates in the SMU Human Rights Education Program's Art for Darfur silent art auction. DDD set up our tents outside the event for visitors to paint.

Speakers Bob and Paulette Cooper spoke about their experiences in Darfur visiting last April with Thirst No More. Director Laura McCarthy spoke of recent events regarding the ICC's indictment of Sudan's President. We displayed a Tent of Hope, held a petition-signing! Crooked Tree CoffeehouseSeptember 13th, 2008 - Defend Darfur Dallas co-sponsored this Tents of Hope painting with Dallas Artists Rally for Urgent Relief (D.A.R.F.U.R.) in Darfur in preparation for D.A.R.F.U.R.'s silent art auction fundraiser for Thirst No More on September 20th at the Cameron Gallery. For an article about the event click here.El Centro College October 8th, 2008 Students at El Centro painted our Tent of Hope and viewed our Darfur presentation as part of their Success Fair. We talked to a lot of students about Darfur. The presentation was very well received, and many students painted the tent!
