Thirst No More

"Did you know that the world's number one killer is unsafe water? This killer takes the lives of more than 30,000 people each day and is responsible for 80% of all sickness in the world. The War in the Darfur Region of Sudan has created the world's worst humanitarian disaster of our day. 2.5 million people have been displaced; that's the population of Houston, Texas! 3.5 million people lack food and safe water; that is the population of Los Angeles, California! Thirst No More has been given a state of the art drilling rig that can utilize air and mud drilling. We will be able to drill through a variety of consolidations to depths up to 800 feet. One well will provide safe, clean water for a minimum of 1,500 people plus their livestock and crops. By enhancing the viability of crops and livestock along with the health of the general community, these water wells will transform communities.

Thirst No More humanitarian efforts in Darfur center around bringing clean, safe, and sustainable drinking water to persons who lack access to this precious natural resource. Additionally, Thirst No More will be partnering with other Non-Government Organizations to offer essential supplies and training for proper nutrition and hygiene. We will be taking teams of volunteers into the Darfur region to assist with the drilling and training efforts. Their 1st-hand experience there will help us create a ground-swell of concern and support here in the United States."
